Can someone be a guarantor who is married to the homeowner and makes payments towards the mortage

I have someone that has agreed to be my guarantor but their name is not on the mortage but is married to the homeowner and has been for several years and make payments towards the mortage every month. Are they able to be a guarantor?

Hi Titch,

The FLM criteria requires that your guarantor must be the Homeowner. If the mortgage is in a joint name, that's fine but if their name isn't actually on the mortgage, then they technically aren't a homeowner themselves.
