Do guarantors have to be working or can they be studants or retired
FLM Loans (8 mths ago)
No, your guarantor doesn't have to be working. It doesn't matter where their money comes from as long as they have at least £800 coming in each month, or £150 left over after their mortgage payment, bills, other loans, etc. They need to be able to afford the repayments if you can't.
Don't forget, your guarantor does need to be a UK homeowner with a good credit history and between the ages of 23-67.

Unfortunately all of our guarantors have to be a homeowner, it is one of our main criteria.
People to think of to ask to be your guarantor are: your best mate, partner, family, landlord, co-worker, employer, neighbour, or family friend. Those are a few examples of who past customers have asked to be their guarantor.
