I am a guarantor for a loan in my daughter in law name, we have been accepted for emigration and will be leaving the country soon so will have no residence in the UK. Will she have to find a new guarantor
FLM Loans (7 mths ago)
No, that's not a problem. Although you are emigrating, the loan is still your responsibility, as agreed when the loan was paid out. Make sure you keep us updated with any contact details and changes to your account, or card details. If the payment fails and we're unable to take the money from you account, the loan will fall into arrears, which may result in an active CCJ on your file. This will be there for 6 years after the balance is settled, if you were ever to return to the UK you wouldn't be able to access any finance. We don't want this to happen, we want you to have the option of coming back to the UK if you want to.
