My guarantor is a new homeowner, can they be accepted?

Just want to see if my brother can be a guarantor even though he has only just got his mortgage

Your guarantor could become a homeowner on the Monday and then stand as guarantor for you on the Tuesday. It doesn't matter how long they’ve been a homeowner, just that they're a homeowner.

One thing you'll have to remember though, because they're new to the property they won't be on the electoral role or the land registry. This means that we will have to see proof that they own the property. This proof can be a copy of the deeds or a letter from the bank or company that dealt with the mortgage. Once we've proven the guarantor is a homeowner we will be able to accept them.
