Why do I need a direct debit or credit card?

Me and my guarantor both have cards attached to our bank accounts, but if we have got a direct debit set up why do you need these details?

You're obviously going to need to pay this loan back. The best way to do this is by direct debit, ideally with a debit or credit card backing it up. You can use someone else's card but please make sure you get their permission. We say direct debit is best because you dont have to worry about remembering to call in and make the payment. By the way, an applicant can’t use their guarantor’s bank details.
Guarantor
We need account details and a debit or credit card for your guarantor, no exceptions. If you miss a payment for whatever reason, we've got to make sure you dont slip into arrears and get loads of charges. Heaven forbid you do miss one, we're going to take it from the guarantor, you can settle up with them when you're ready.
Best thing to do, dont miss any payments, and your guarantor won’t be bothered.

The only way you can pay us weekly is if you choose to go as a debit card payer and logged in at the same time each week and paid it. We wouldn't be able to take this automatically and would always advise you against doing this because of the risk of you forgetting.
Best way to pay it back is to set up a direct debit so it comes out each month, on the same day. Then you don't have to worry about it.

hiya i already have a loan with you just .....
i want to change my debit card details, i want to discard my other card you have stored on your systems how do i go about it as there is no option to remove an old card which i dont have anymore?

To ammend any card details we have stored, all you need to do is go to the Card Summary section on your online FLM Loan account page.
To go straight there, click the "My Loan" button at the top of this page and log in.

we havent got a direct debit card only a derbyshire building society card but my gaurentor has got a direct debit card can i still have a loan?

Hi Gemma,
If you don't have a debit card that's fine. However we will need to take bank account details from you and this account must be able to accept direct debits. Also your guarantor must have a credit or debit card.

can i arrange payment to you directly out of my wages at weekly intervals, so that you get paid the same day i do, that way i wont miss any payments at all!
